“O-Oh,” she said after the rest of the blanks sort of filled themselves. She realized that this probably felt like it was supposed to replace his sister even if that was never the intention. Sophia touched her forehead to his affectionately. She just wanted to comfort him in any way that she could. “It could have been unplanned. We didn’t plan peanut. But I know it’s not really the same,” she murmured to him.
“I don’t want another sibling,” He mumbled, scooting closer to her. “I’ve already lost two, Anne Marie and the one from the miscarriage. What if something bad happens to this one, too?”
