“You don’t need to learn a lot,” He pulled her closer. “There are a few simple things you should know for tomorrow, though. Buon giorno is good morning, buona sera is good evening, ciao is hello or goodbye, grazie is thank you, and prego you’re welcome.” He kissed her forehead.
