Sophia reached over and gave his knee a squeeze then sighed and kept reading as her phone buzzed. It was her dad asking if they were still coming. She texted back that they were on the way then glanced back at Kat and Amelie briefly.
Amelie hummed then started singing along to Smells Like Teen Spirit, grinning at Sophia when she looked at her.
Gabe kissed Sophia’s cheek and smiled. After driving for a while, he pulled up to the vineyard, just as the cd had started over. Amelie climbed into the front and turned the volume up, then kissed Sophia’s cheek and sat back down.
