“They’re bands that loads of little girls love to listen to. They’re not very good and they use a machine to sing for them” Sophia explained.
“So please allow me to ask, this girl, why doesn’t she call you by your name?” He asked.
“The same reason I don’t call you by your name,” she replied.
“But you will be her step mother.”
“And?”
“Usually children use their step mothers name”
“Well Amelie doesn’t and I don’t expect her to. I’m honored she sees me as her mother and I hope Kat does the same when she can speak” Sophia’s voice was firm again
“She just accepts you as her mother?”

“Christine is a bitch, so. She was never much of a mother, she didn’t even want kids, so I was raising Amelie alone while Christine sat back and watched, until I met Sophia.” Gabe said, turning the music down a little.
